Weekly Writing Prompt — June 22, 2011 Edition

Writers:

This is going to be down and dirty, because my home has been invaded by out-of-town family and they currently are waiting on me to finish my writing work and head to Snoqualmie Falls.

So that is the theme of today’s prompt — family. What does it mean? What does it mean to your character? Is it by blood or by choice? Urban or Genetic? Stories that only you have that are stranger than fiction….Write.  If your story also includes a central theme of “three” you’re killing two birds with one stone.

Administrative stuff:

Regular Work session this Sunday at 3 p.m. Please RSVP so I can plan our time accordingly.

Write Now! event for Festival at Mount Si, I only have one person outside of the board that has said, “Yes and can I be there two days?” This is a great opportunity to push your skills, prove to the world that writers are artists and that we work hard at our craft.

Don’t be afraid. It’s a few hours and you can drink a beer or have an elephant ear afterwards!

And now your moment of Writing Zen:

“All sanity depends on this:  that it should be a delight to feel heat strike the skin, a delight to stand upright, knowing the bones are moving easily under the flesh.” — Doris Lessing

Falling, like dew upon a thought, produces
That which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think.” ~ Lord Byron
